Bible Study
Sunday evenings we meet for Bible study. We learn about Jesus and his
teachings through studying the Bible, playing learning games, discussion,
and other creative methods. This Bible study provides a safe place for
children to ask their questions. They learn to support and under gird their
peers through prayer and encouragement.
Spiritual Formation
Sunday evening we meet for a time to consider our spirituality. Using "The
Way of the Child" allows children to experience God in their own way. We
create opportunities for the children to experience and practice spiritual
disciplines that will nurture that relationship for a lifetime. We meet in
room 208 aka: "The Quiet Place".
Fellowship Activities
We provide monthly fellowships for our first through sixth graders. These fellowships
create opportunities for the children to grow in their friendships, as well
as to understand and experience the joy of fellowship with one another. Some
examples of our fellowships include: movie nights, climbing walls, and
roller-skating.
Mission Activities
We provide monthly service opportunities for our children in grades one to
six.
This allows the children to take what they have learned, think beyond
themselves, and share the love of Christ with others. Some examples of
service projects we have participated include: working at Clemson
Community Care, shopping for Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes, providing
soup for our shut-ins, and making blankets for children in the hospital.
Summer Camp
Each summer we provide an opportunity for our third through sixth graders to attend
camp. The camps we participate in are an extension of our children’s
ministry. The camps we attend incorporate the elements we include in our
ministry at First Baptist; those being Bible study, fellowship, and service
to others.
Sunday School
This is not the SS you grew up with...this SS is an experience! Children
will enter a New Testament Village to be completely immersed in a biblical
concept. Each room is taken back to New Testament times.
Children will learn about God and Jesus through Bible stories, Art, Cooking,
Computers, Drama, Missions, Science, Movies, and Games. After
completing each unit, the children will have a Celebration Sunday where they
can journal, share what they have learned, and celebrate who they are!
