Water U Doing? Discovering Jesus as “The Living Water” !
Our theme for VBS 2010 will take us on a journey to learn how God acted on behalf of people with a variety of needs, challenges, and trouble. We will see that God loved the world so much that Jesus became the living picture of that love here on earth. God cares about physical human needs and the needs of the heart. We will also journey through Malawi and consider their deep need for clean water. Along with presenting the reality of the need, we will also talk about the good things that can are happening when people work together.
Each day we will “prime the pump” as we “dig in” and encourage ask each child, “water u doing”! You will not want to miss it!
Below are scenes from the last Bible School
Our Bible School takes place in God's Big Backyard. Our focus is on the Bible verses from Matthew 22: 34-40. One of them, a Lawyer, spoke up: Sir, which is the most important command in the laws of Moses? Jesus replied, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. The second most important is similar: Love your neighbor as much as you love yourself. All the other commandments and all the demands of the prophets stem from these two laws and are fulfilled if you obey them."
With this Bible verse in mind, the children learned to serve, Jesus, friends, family, community and neighbors. This is done with play, crafts, games and Bible study.
Bible School was directed by Lorie Gourdin and Cecilia McCaskill (Pre-school) with staff support from Mrs. Theresa Smith.
